Can I order a subscription to THE ALIGNIST as a gift for someone else?

Yes! During checkout, check the box indicating that the subscription order you’re placing is a gift and include the name and address of the person you would like the box to be sent to when it’s ready for shipment.

How often will I RECEIVE A BOX?

THE ALIGNIST box subscriptions ship four times a year. You will be charged when you place your order, but, depending on when you placed your order, it could take up to three months to be reach you. Both THE WHOLE STORY and the JUST THE FACTS subscriptions use the following schedule:

Orders placed between January 2 and April 1 will ship by the end of April.

Orders placed between April 2 and July 1 will ship by the end of July.

Orders placed between July 2 and October 1 will ship by the end of October.

Orders placed between October 2 and January 1 will ship by the end of January.

Is there any way to know in advance which countries and novels will be featured in the future?

We reveal our next featured country before sales close for that edition, but we like to keep the featured novel a secret. The element of surprise is part of the ethos of this endeavor. It’s an attempt to share a diversity of news and literature, and to focus in on countries and issues that might not get as much attention in mainstream media. Many people who subscribe to THE ALIGNIST do it as a sort of gift to themselves, and we believe gifts are always more tantalizing when they’re unexpected.

We’re so glad! It’s just a little hard, at this stage, for us to do what it takes to develop new boxes and fulfill back order requests. That’s why the the bulk of this enterprise is focused on the subscription model. However, THE ALIGNIST offers a limited quantity of previous boxes on the site.
